Description

Saw-whet Owls

Speaker: Ann Nightingale

Although seldom seen by birders, the Northern Saw-whet Owl is one of the best studied bird species in North America. Owl banders across the continent brave cold nights and forgo sleep to keep track of these charming predators.

Ann Nightingale, from Rocky Point Bird Observatory, will present a slide illustrated talk on her work on migration monitoring in Victoria, BC, and a nest box project in Boardman, OR.

Doors to the event open at 6:30 pm for socializing, and the program will begin at 7 pm.
