HABITAT STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM

Want to get more involved in local conservation?

Sign up today for the Pierce Conservation District Habitat Steward Training Program! Habitat Stewards are dedicated volunteers who take the lead in planning and coordinating habitat restoration in their local park’s natural areas. Attendees of the program will learn:

• Ecosystems and wildlife habitat 101
• Learn the “four phases of habitat restoration”
• How to identify invasive plants and native trees/shrubs
• How to take the lead in restoring your local park or open space
• From 1:00-3:00 PM learn how to do invasive removal at Thelma Gilmur Park

CLASSROOM & FIELD TRAINING:

March 11, 9 am - 3 pm

Lunch provided from 12 - 1 pm

Meet at Adriana Hess Audubon Center (2917 Morrison Road W., University Place) for the classroom/lunch portion of the day, and then we'll go to Thelma Gilmur Park (1404 Evergreen Drive, Fircrest) for the field training portion of the day.
